Wrap-Up and Good-Bye

I hope you had as much fun as I did making our way through the History of Pop Culture in America. As we began in the 1940's we learned how the vision of America shifted from winning a war to winning at life and how each generation has worked to leverage the progress of the previous generation into something even more spectacular. We saw trends emerge that showed dramatic shifts in social norms and the ideology of Americans about every 20 years. We saw this in the 1940's and 1950's with masculine ideologies, the 1960's and 1970's with a battle between consumerism and social responsibility, the 1980's and 1990's and the rise of entertainment and television as a cultural driver and the 2000's and 2010's leveraged technology to improve our lives and enhance our happiness. As we enter into the 2020's what will be the cultural driver that reshapes Pop Culture and American ideologies.

Use the information we have learned to think critically not just about our history, but about our present and what it tells us about who we are and where we are headed.
